Why Choose Reflexology?

People are becoming more health conscious and interested in investing in their wellbeing.  It’s now recognised that our minds, bodies and emotions are interwoven. The World Health Organisation (WHO) classifies stress as the “health epidemic of the 21st Century.”

Reflexology is a safe, non invasive touch therapy that is effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing; reducing stress in people’s lives can be key in optimising good health and building resilience. Based on the theory that different points on the feet correspond with different areas of the body, Reflexologists work these points and areas with gentle pressure and massage techniques.

There are more nerve endings in your feet than any other part of the body. Evidence from Japan using MRI scans, shows a direct neural link between the feet and the central nervous system. (CNS).  Part of the CNS is called the parasympathetic nervous system, this is responsible for promoting digestion, slowing our heart and breathing rate and lowering blood pressure. This also supports the reduction of inflammation, boosts the immune system and activates essential healing processes in our body. These processes continue after a treatment, helping your body return to a state of natural equilibrium.  Reflexology has been shown in studies to naturally calm the stress response, reduce anxiety and release endorphins, the body’s feel good chemicals.

Reflexology can be used safely alongside standard healthcare. As an NHS approved Reflexologist, with UK backed government qualifications, my role  is to provide you with therapeutic touch in an empathetic, calm environment.

A relaxing escape from your busy lifestyle to support your wellbeing.
